WHOLESALE
Wholesale made simple inside Shopify
Quantum gives you a clean wholesale pathway that works on every Shopify plan. You set up three pages with their own page templates, one menu item, one wholesale collection, one product tag, and one customer tag. Retailers read your wholesale information, sign in or create an account, then submit their wholesale application while logged in. You approve them with one tag, and wholesale pricing stays private for approved retailers only. Quick Order links to a dedicated Wholesale orders page first, then approved retailers continue into your assigned Wholesale collection.
Important: do not use the Default page template for your Wholesale pages. Create three separate page templates so each page stays independent.
Step by step setup
Follow these steps in order.
-
1Turn on customer accountsGo to Settings, then Customer accounts, and enable customer accounts. Retailers must log in so Quantum can identify approved wholesale customers correctly.
-
2Create three pagesCreate Wholesale information, Apply for wholesale, and Wholesale orders. Then create one page template for each page.
-
3Assign your pages in Header settingsIn the Theme Editor, open Header and assign your Wholesale information page, Apply page, and Wholesale orders page.
-
4Create the Wholesale menu itemIn Content, then Menus, create a top level item titled Wholesale. Add child links for Wholesale information and Apply for wholesale. Do not add a separate Log in link.
-
5Add the page sectionsAdd QT Wholesale info to the Wholesale information page, QT Wholesale apply form to the Apply page, and QS Wholesale Orders Gateway to the Wholesale orders page.
-
6Create the Wholesale collectionGo to Products, then Collections, create your Wholesale collection, and publish it to Online Store. Then assign it inside the Wholesale collection URL setting in the Wholesale Orders Gateway.
-
7Create wholesale productsDuplicate the retail products, set your wholesale prices, tag them wholesale-only, add them to the Wholesale collection, and make sure each one is also available to Online Store if retailers will buy through the storefront.
-
8Set up taxes for your regionGo to Settings, then Taxes and duties, and make sure your store is collecting tax in the country or region where your business is required to collect it. If your store is not collecting taxes there, tax will not be added at checkout.
-
9Check tax on each wholesale productOn each taxable wholesale product, keep Charge tax on this product enabled. Tax collection is controlled in Shopify admin, not by the theme.
-
10Approve retailersReview the application, then tag approved customers with wholesale-approved.
-
11Test the full journeyLog in as an approved retailer, open Wholesale, click Quick order, then Open quick order, and confirm the assigned Wholesale collection loads correctly and tax is added at checkout for the region where your store collects tax.

FAQs
Simple answers for merchants setting up wholesale for the first time.
Do I need to add Log in to the Wholesale menu
No. Quantum includes the Log in link automatically inside the Wholesale panel.
What is the Wholesale orders page for
It is the Quick Order gateway page. Approved retailers continue from there into the assigned Wholesale collection.
Why did Open quick order show a 404 page
Usually because the Wholesale collection is not assigned, the collection is not published to Online Store, or the products inside it are not available to Online Store.
Should wholesale products be available to Online Store
Yes, if approved retailers are meant to buy them on the storefront through the Wholesale collection.
How do I make Shopify charge tax
Go to Settings, then Taxes and duties, and make sure the store is collecting taxes in the country or region where your business is required to collect them. Then keep Charge tax on this product enabled on taxable wholesale products.
Does this require Shopify B2B
No. Quantum wholesale is tag based so it works on every Shopify plan.
